The first generation Renault Twingo proposed by Renault chief designer Patrick le Quément. Given the somewhat resembles a Polish prototype Beskid, which said the proposal was based. Twingo name was a combination of words, Twist, Swing and Tango, which should promote an attractive image of the vehicle. The dashboard was just the beginning of production equipped with speedometer, fuel meter, clock and trip odometer that could be erased by pressing the end of the steering column. The car had a sliding rear seats. The entire first generation Twingo was equipped with four-cylinder gasoline engine. The first engine became available 1.2-liter 55 hp (41 kW) engine, later replaced by bool 1.2 liter engine with a 60 hp (45 kW). Another engine, supplied since 2000, had a capacity of 75 hp (56 kW). Council vehicle parts have in common with other Twingo Renault cars. The first generation Renault Twingo is produced in the years 1993 - 2007, which is much longer than the usual seven-year cycle of individual models. During this time the Twingo has undergone a facelift three times, in 1998, 2000 and 2004. Twingo is produced in France since 1992 and in Colombia and Uruguay from 1999 to 2002. Second generation The second generation Renault Twingo suggested as first-generation vehicle chief designer Patrick le Quément car. The car was unveiled to the public in 2006 at the Paris Motor Show Mondial de l'Automobile. It is built on the chassis Renault Clio MK II, with increased emphasis on passenger safety. Second-generation vehicles, from 2007 produced in Slovenia.
